SkullBros Escalation Month 2 Updates (pt1)

Hey folks,

The catch-up continues--on to Month 2. At this point, shit's all over the place, so keeping SkullBros and Non-SkullBros separate seems silly. Plus, I'm just that lazy.

Hey Gang,
Month 2 went pretty well. I added Skulltaker and another 2 units of 8 Bloodletters. I actually dropped the Flesh Hounds from month one so the points worked out. They will probably make a return in the coming months

As for games, I played Trunzo early on in the month. I assumed I would get trashed in short order as Orks are a SUPER bad match up for my elite based list. We ended up having a super close game with the recurring reinforcements rule helping me out hugely. I was literally a charge away from making it happen in the end. Really fun game in the end.

I didn't get a second game this month as poor Danno had to drop out and he was my match up. There was like no one around last week. It was so scary.

Since I finished my paint early, I worked on month 3 a little this last month. Currently I've got 150 points in possessed under way. I'm still trying to figure out what the remaining 100 points will be. Options so far are:

-A Rhino kitted out with Havok Missile launchers and a combi flamer.
-An unruly mob of Cultists
-Some Spawn

Or a combination of the above.

Peace suckas

Sup Bros! Well, like a true dick, I came up a bit short this month. Got the Daemonettes done, but couldn't wrap up the Raptors in time.
No excuses, just couldn't cross the finish line. Played both my M2 games the same week. Eeked out a win against Schaefer with the unlimited reserves in the name of Daemonettes carried the day. GAME against Shelley saw the Daemonettes carry the day again. Those bitches really excel against smaller units of Power Armor doods!
Anyways, here's pics. There's pics of my monthly pledge followed by a pic of the whole motley gang.
Enjoy!

This month we are really giving the orks some Snakebite flair with the addition of the Weirdboy to lead the army (for now) and his madboyz as well as the iconic boarboyz.  The weirdboy is an avatars of war orc shaman whereas the madboyz are some of the finest early GW ork sculpts around.  I have made them even madder by posing them as dancing, flinging poo, and giving other lewd gestures.  The boar boyz required me to get over the mental block I have had with this unit since I first decided to do orks.  They came out pretty well but the old boars are so static compared to the newer ones.  I decided in the end to stick to my 'if it aint broke dont fix it' budget and use the older boars I had lying around instead of buying the new ones.  I mixed them with a bunch of old bitz and discarded space marine and ork bikes.  I am going to use the boarz as counts as bikes, hence the large gunz strapped to the sides of the poor beasts.  I plan to make at least ten more and am excited to get to them in future months (one involves a gyro stabilized monowheel).  I only got one game in but the orks were able to pull off a victory against a never ending tide of bloodletter led by Skulltaker.  Well, thats all for now.  See you next month!

[I didn't get much from Andrew this month for thoughts--just that for Month 3 he'll be adding a sweet drop pod and terminator assault squad!]

Well, month 2 was an experimental month for me with painting, modeling and weathering vehicles. I added 3 bikers bros, a hell brute and 2 rhinos. First off, biker bros took longer then I had thought. Not sure why cause I had them constructed prior to month 2. I knew that these guys were gonna basically be World Eater berserkers on bikes so detail was taken using Forge World-World Eater conversion pads, heads and torsos. Bikes got a bit of a conversion with marauder sheilds as front wheel rims. I also gave the bikers some movement on their bases which turned out nicely. Only 5 more to do as some point. The hell brute was a pad this month but he did get a bit of an update on the red plated armor getting a much needed highlight for a little more punch.
The big experiment came with the Rhinos. There were alot of firsts with these things from chipping, weathering, using glazes and washes through my airbrush, and source lighting. Over all Im pretty pleased with the end result. To be honest, I really wanted to do black tanks, but I messed up on the first attempt and it looked like crap. So I went red. These rhinos are heavily chipped and beat up which was really fun to explore the technique. I added brass etched World Eater iconography and Presto! Anyway I hope you enjoy the pics.
Month 3 is gonna see a unit of 8 berserkers. Would like to make some F@#K! BERSERKER!

That's all for today folks! I'll be back mid-week (to let some of these other Magnificent Bastards get a chance at posting stuff).

Smell ya later!

Keep up the good work guys! Love the use of the marauder shields on the bikes and that Rhino is amazing Sambo.

Love the look of the old boar boyz on the round bases. The new boars are much more dynamic, but if you have the models might as well use them. Do these count as bikers then I take it?
