Books for Bastards #2

As mentioned in the lastest epsiode, I've been a bit book crazy lately. As part of that, I finally crossed the 200 audiobook threshold!

Audiobooks help me paint better!

I started this list around 2006, maybe 2008, after a good pal of mine casually remarked he had listened to 200 audiobooks at work. I wondered how many I had listened to at the time and started this list. Turns out it wasn't anywhere near 200 but I continued to diligently plot my progress.

The vast majority of these books, probably #10 to #120 or so, were listened to during a quite boring data entry type position from 2006 to 2008. Starting in late 2008, I moved into a more engaged position where I wasn't able to listen to books anymore.

From 2008 to 2010, I really didn't paint much so my audio adventures stagnated.

In April of 2010, I started the 10 week blitz on The Glade of Blood and returned to the audiofile fold relistening to all four Song of Ice and Fire books in preparation for the release of Dance of Dragons.

Since then, I've been on the audiotrain pretty steadily, with big bursts for the Cthulhu Demons project before heading to the South Coast and then again before heading to Quake City Rumble. For this latter blitz, I finally started adding the completion dates. You can get through quite a few books when you're painting 50-60 hours a week!

Check back each day for a further book related post. I've actually been reading more than listening lately and have like a 5-6 book backlog of books I need to talk about on the podcast, so I thought I'd just catch up on this here blog. In addition, I will post about the excellent crop of books coming up in 2015, some duds to watch out for, and a blanket top 5 suggestions you can refer to when you're looking for something to listen or read!
